Australian Made II Short film comp

To celebrate the release of Australian Made 2, David Child Films is running a short film competition.

The Concept:
To film a 5 – 10min long bodyboarding feature with the concept
capturing ‘Fun’, whether it be a road trip with your mates or
a profile on a certain rider as long as the film depicts the
concept ‘Fun’.

Details:
This competition is open to all Australian residents.
Entries Close Oct 1st 2008 & the winner will be notified by the
1st of Nov.

Prizes:
First place will win a Custom made Dave Kelly water housing to the value of $1800, as well as having their short film added to the start off
‘Australian Made 2’.

 - Entries are expected to be on a mini DV tape in a raw and in an

 - Judges decision is final.
 - All entries will receive one free ticket to an ‘Australian Made 2’

Delay with Updates:

Due to a busy period of returning home from Canada, house hunting and filming there has been no time left for updates. Plans and production are underway on  Australian Made 2, so there will be regular updates, frames & teasers released about the project. So keep posted.

The wait is almost over before this long awaited DVD hits the stores. The DVD took a few weeks longer then first planned, but trust me it is worth the wait.
We will let you know exactly when it hits the shelves but we are looking at the 10 th of December.

Combine the footage from Liam O’Brien (Current Nofriends videographer) and the editing skills of Mark Bunyan and you get ‘Turmoil’. Featuring profiled sections on the very talented Tom Smith, Adam ‘Crashy’ Benwell, Matt Lackey & Mitch Rawlins. There are heaps of other riders featured including: Kingy, Sam Gray, Nick Ormerod, Greg Deeth, Simon Ohmygod, Ryan Hardy, Harry Dixon, Byron Nameyei plus more, filmed in such locations as Hawaii, West Oz, Queensland, South Coast NSW, & South Oz.

Over all ‘Turmoil’ is a great watch, packed with tight clean bodyboarding. With a few comic features added.

The Gold Coast has been struck once more with a flat spell. Theres been plenty of rain, storms and hail but no waves. There is rumour of a Sth swell towards the end of the week so with fingers crossed the spell could be over

The ‘How To’ instructional DVD is coming along well with a busy week spent in Port Macquarie over the national titles filming the finishing touches for the DVD. ‘How to’ is narrated by some of the biggest names in the sport including – Nick Ormerod, Eppo, Michael Novy, Nick Perry, Simon Ormerod, and Tom Wilson just to name a few… Keep posted for more updates on the film.
